Its assets

While most extracts are titrated in total saponin, our extract selected by DIX is standardised in furostanol saponins and protodioscin. According to analyses carried out by our supplier, this extract contains more than 10 times more of this active ingredient than other products on the market.
You only need one or two capsules to obtain the desired results.

Sapionine

Saponins are versatile compounds with a wide range of biological activities, from membrane interaction and cholesterol binding to immune system modulation and antimicrobial effects.

Protodioscin

Protodioscin is a natural steroidal saponin, a powerful saponin found in Tribulus terrestris. This fairly rare active ingredient could and does offer numerous benefits, particularly suitable for athletes.

Protodioscin is thought to stimulate the pituitary gland to release more luteinising hormone (LH). LH is a key hormone in the regulation of reproductive function. In men, it stimulates the Leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone.

It has a chemical structure similar to that of steroid hormones, with a sugar attached to its basic structure.

Did you know that?

The particular composition of Tribulus terrestris depends largely on its geographical origin.

  • Weather conditions Variations in temperature, humidity and sunlight can affect the concentration of bioactive compounds.
  • Soil quality Nutrients and soil pH influence the content of active ingredients.
  • Growing methods Agricultural practices, such as irrigation and the use of fertilisers, modify the chemical composition.

Its history

Tribulus terrestris is a plant used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat a variety of health problems, including eye disorders, oedema, stomach upsets and sexual dysfunction. It is also used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine to treat impotence, infertility, urogenital disorders, cardiovascular disease, inflammation and chronic pain.

Its benefits

Studies show that Tribulus terrestris may also help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. As for its aphrodisiac effects, research shows that it can improve sexual desire, increase satisfaction and reduce the symptoms of erectile dysfunction in men, as well as improving libido in women. These benefits appear to be more pronounced in individuals suffering from sexual dysfunction.

What is it?

The plant contains over 70 different compounds, the most notable of which are steroidal saponins and flavonoids. These substances are thought to be largely responsible for Tribulus terrestris' antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and neurological properties. It is important to note that the chemical composition of this plant may vary depending on its geographical origin.
