Rhodiola Rosea appears to have ergogenic properties in addition to its adaptogenic properties.
In studies on strength training, Rhodiola Rosea increased strength and power when taken just before training. Rhodiola Rosea supplementation also decreased the rate of perceived exertion in several studies. Other research has shown that it can reduce fatigue, improve speed and endurance.
More specifically, it has been shown that Rhodiola supplementation of 200 to 680 mg/day improves physical performance, while a dose between 100 and 576 mg/day can reduce mental fatigue.
The reduction of stress and fatigue has been widely documented, as well as the improvement of mental performance, especially in stressful conditions. A study conducted among high school students during an exam period concluded that Rhodiola Rosea was associated with a significant reduction in stress and mental fatigue, leading to an increase in grades of about 10%!
Rhodiola Rosea has also demonstrated its ability to improve mood.
