Magnesium Zinc : Benefits and virtues
- Magnesium bisglycinate is absorbed via active amino acid transport thanks to its bond with glycine. It bypasses the TRPM6 and TRPM7 channels, avoiding any saturation.
- Magnesium malate uses both pathways: it partially passes through the TRPM6 and TRPM7 channels, but a portion is also absorbed by passive diffusion between cells.
- Magnesium citrate is highly soluble and primarily takes the transcellular route, passing through the TRPM6 and TRPM7 ion channels.
- MAGNESIUM BISGLYCINATE: For relaxation, sleep, and nervous balance. It is a chelated form where magnesium is bound to two glycine molecules.
- MAGNESIUM CITRATE: To optimize digestion, metabolism, and cellular protection.
- MAGNESIUM MALATE: For energy, recovery, and cramp prevention.
- ZINC BISGLYCINATE: This chelated form ensures excellent bioavailability, limiting digestive issues.
- ZINC MONO-L-METHIONINE: Combined with an essential amino acid (methionine), it further enhances cellular assimilation.
- ZINC GLUCONATE: Well tolerated by the body, it represents an effective source to support immune defenses.
Magnesium is an essential dietary nutrient and one of the most abundant minerals in the body. Magnesium acts as an electrolyte and is a cofactor for more than 600 enzymes.
Magnesium is necessary for energy production (ATP), glucose metabolism, DNA and protein synthesis, nerve conduction, bone health, and cardiovascular regulation, among other functions. It also plays a crucial role in the synthesis and activation of vitamin D.
Magnesium plays a key role in the nervous system by influencing several neurotransmitters. It binds to NMDA receptors and blocks their excessive activation by glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter that can, in excess, promote migraines and cerebral hyperactivity.
MAGNESIUM AND CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
Magnesium also acts as a regulator of intracellular calcium.
MAGNESIUM AND BONE HEALTH
Magnesium plays a key role in bone health because 60% of the body's magnesium is stored in the bones, where it contributes to bone formation and density.
MAGNESIUM, INFLAMMATION, AND IMMUNITY
Magnesium has a natural anti-inflammatory action, as it regulates the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-6 and TNF-α.
MAGNESIUM, MITOCHONDRIA, AND ENERGY
Our cells need energy to function, and this energy is produced in the mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cells. However, magnesium is essential for ATP production.
Magnesium promotes the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. It regulates neurotransmitters that calm the nervous system, promoting a state of relaxation. Finally, it helps to relax muscles, reducing physical tension
There is no real "best" magnesium, as its effectiveness depends on several factors: the benefits sought, bioavailability, and digestive tolerance. However, some forms are much more suitable depending on the desired objectives.
HOW TO CHOOSE A GOOD MAGNESIUM?
Some forms of magnesium are better absorbed by the body. In general, organic forms such as bisglycinate, citrate, malate, taurate, and magnesium threonate are better assimilated than inorganic forms like oxide or hydroxide, which are less effective.
This effect is generally due to inorganic magnesium such as magnesium oxide or sulfate. This can occur for two reasons: the osmotic effect related to the presence of unabsorbed magnesium, and the osmotic effect related to a high concentration of unabsorbed ionic magnesium.
Customer Reviews and Tests
I’ve been dealing with nighttime cramps and while I was taking quinine, it wasn’t quite enough. Since I started using this supplement, I no longer have that issue.
I tried the 2-in-1 formula with magnesium, zinc, and vitamin B6, and it’s been great! I’ve been using it for about four months now, and I really appreciate how it helps with relaxation and energy. It’s a solid combination that has made a noticeable difference for me.
Great Mineral Supplement for Active Individuals
I’m really glad this doesn’t contain magnesium stearate. I’ve been using it without any problems so far!
